ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ,19 ਜਨਵਰੀ 2016:– ਪੰਜਾਬ ਖੇਤੀਬਾੜ੍ਹੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਾਰਚ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਸਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਲੇ ਲਗਾਏ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ । ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਪਸਾਰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਡਾ. ਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਲੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਦਿਵਸ 4 ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਗਕਲਾਂ ਜਹਾਂਗੀਰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਲੋਵਾਲ ਸੌਂਖੜੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਦਕਿ 9 ਮਾਰਚ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਦਿਵਸ ਫਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਵਿਖੇ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ।
ਰੌਣੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਮੇਲਾ 11 ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਦਕਿ ਗੁਰਦਾਸਪੁਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਮੇਲਾ 15 ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ।
ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਐਗਰੀਕਲਚਰਲ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਇਹ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਮੇਲਾ 18-19 ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਲੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਤਿਮ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਮੇਲਾ ਬਠਿੰਡਾ ਵਿਖੇ 22 ਮਾਰਚ ਨੂੰ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ।

PAU ANNOUNCES DATES FOR SEVEN KISAN MELAS IN MARCH 2016

Aiming at apprising farmers and farm women of innovative farm techniques and household management practices, the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) will hold a series of seven Kisan Melas and Kisan Divas in various districts of Punjab in March 2016.
Giving details, Dr R.S. Sidhu, Director of Extension Education said that the series will kick start with first Kisan Divas at Nagkalan Jahangir, Amritsar and Ballowal Saunkhri onMarch 4. This would be followed by Kisan Divas at Faridkot onMarch 9. He further informed that the Kisan Mela at Rauni, Patiala will be organized onMarch 11whereas at Gurdaspur, it will be held onMarch 15. The two-day Kisan Mela on PAU campus will be organized onMarch 18 and 19, he said. The last Kisan Mela will be heldat Bathinda onMarch 22, he told.
Dr Sidhu said that these melas and divas will provide an opportunity to the farmers to acquaint themselves with the latest agricultural technologies for forthcomingKharifseason. Various departments of PAU will put up exhibitions and technical stalls where farmers can discuss their farm issues with the University experts, he added.The farmers can also purchase farm literature, new seeds and planting material during these melas and divas, he added.
