CHANDIGARH, JUNE 5:The Punjab Government today declared a public holiday on June 7 due to the scheduled elections of Municipal councils/Municipal corporations and Nagar Panchayats across the state.This would also be a holiday under Section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881.An official spokesperson of Punjab Government said that the election of civic bodies scheduled to be held on June 7 and 10. He said that keeping in view the Elections, a public holiday has been declared by Punjab Government on June 7 . The spokesperson said that June 10, which being Sunday was a holiday, but if any employee has been deputed on urgent services, heshe would be able to get leave with the permission of concerned competent authority to cast his/her vote making internal arrangements.
