Chandigarh, September 25th 2013: The Punjab Government has decided to start exchange programme of wild lives with the zoos in Pakistan to promote the friendship campaign between India and Pakistan. Under this unique friendship promotion program the birds from the wild life sanctuaries in Punjab would be sent to the sanctuaries in Pakistan vice-versa.
           An official spokesman of Punjab Government today said that an official delegation of Forest and Wild Life Protection Department would soon visit the sanctuaries situated in Pakistan to finalize the program to bring the rare species to the sanctuaries of Punjab. He said that this resolution has been passed in a high-level meeting of State Wild Life Board presided over by the Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal. He said that the delegation would finalize the program after holding meetings with the officials of sanctuaries situated at Lahore to initiate the process of bringing rare species of wild life to the Punjab and same from here to the sanctuaries of Pakistan.
           The spokesman said that for this purpose a committee has been constituted, which would be led by Forests and Wild Life Protection Minister Mr. Arunesh Shakir comprising with Chairman of Forest Corporation, Secretary of Forest Department, Chief Wild Life Warden and Deputy Chief Wild Life Wardern (Retd).
           Mr. Arunesh Shakir said that with this unique exchange program of wild and rare species from the sanctuaries between Punjab and Lahore would not only enrich and strengthen the friendship between both countries but also prove a boon to preserve and nurture rear species. Mr. Shakir said that the exchange of wild lives would take place on the basis of Exchange Value of wild lives.

PUNJAB GOVERNMENT SIMPLIFIES THE PROCESS OF BUDGET DISTRIBUTION
 
Chandigarh, September 25:   In order to simplify the process of budget distribution the Punjab government streamlined the working of Centralized Budget Distribution Cell.  Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Punjab government said that a notification in this regard has been issued by the Finance Department. He said that now onwards every grant which has been distributed to the DDOs by the concerned department would be entered from the centralized Budget distribution Cell and no one in physical would visit the office. He said that the scanned copy of the sanctioned letter pertaining to the grant to be released (before the DDOs submits the bill to the Treasury) had to be sent to this e-mail address: – grantdistribution.punjab@gmail.com.
          He said that henceforth it would be required that every grant order needs to be sent to the email address along with the details :- name of the employee, designation of the employee, email address, contact number,  name of HOD, name of the department. The respective department would also had to furnish the information DDO code, Demand No., Major Head, Sub-Major head, Minor Head, Sub-Head, Detailed Head, SOE, sub SOE, Plan/N.P./CSS, Treasury name and Budget provision. The spokesman said that in the absence of these details it would not be possible to process the distribution of grant in the system and the onus for subsequent delay would lie with the department. He said that no employee in person would be entertained by the Budget distribution Cell.

 CHANDIGARH, SEPTEMBER 25: The Punjab Government has decided to encourage the farmers towards fish farming during current season of 2011-12, with a target to bring more 1000 hectares of new land under alternative farming. An official spokesman said that under this unique program to expand the area under fish farming the state government has reserved an amount of Rs 4 crore to provide subsidy to the fish farmers. He said that an estimated 2247 lakh new fish seeds would be prepared in this current season of 2011-12 besides imparting training to 6000 fish farmers. He said that proposals regarding mobile establishment of fish lab, holding fish fairs and arranging fish markets besides initiating fish development projects has been sent for approval further proceedings.
          The spokesman said that during last season 2010-11, a total Rs 2.10 crore had been spent on fish farming under various schemes including setting up of an ultra-modern fish center worth Rs 40 lakh at Malwal village of Ferozepur district, mobile fish lab worth Rs 12 lakh in Roop Nagar district, establishing Fish Diagnostic Center at Gadvasu in Ludhiana district with an estimated cost of Rs 32 lakh besides launching Government Poong Farms and Hatcheries worth Rs 36 lakhs in three districts of Amritsar, Roop Nagar and Gurdaspur. He said that Rs 54 lakhs had been spent to develop fish farming and to provide aerators to the farmers through across the state. He said that the development program also included stocking of fishes in Ranjit Sagar Dam at Gurdaspur and construction of 9 cluster ponds in Mukatsar district on subsidy basis worth Rs 5.56 lakh.
 The spokesman said that earlier in the season of 2009-10 the Punjab Government had constructed Government Fish Seed Farms and Model Fish Pond worth Rs 30 lakh in the districts Amritsar, Roop Nagar, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Hoshiarpur and Dhandua. He said that a state-of-the-art Fish Laboratories for Demonstration Fish Pond had been constructed at Abul-Khurana worth Rs 11.60 lakh besides setting up of Government Fish Seed Farm worth Rs 20 lakh at Katli in Roop Nagar district.
