The Entomology experts of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have cautioned the farmers of the Punjab against the attack of “Pink Stem Borer” pest on wheat crop. Referring to its symptoms, Dr Balwinder Singh, Director of Research and Head, Department of Entomology, said, “Due to this pest attack, the infested tillers first look pale brown and ultimately dry up. As a result, the crop dries up in patches.” He advised the farmers, "Incase the incidence of this pest is noticed,spray the crop with Quinalphos 25 EC @800 ml/acre by mixing in 100 litres of water."
