Nero sleeping while Rome was burning

Kapurthala 03.09.2010:- Congress party strongly condemns the barbarian, brutal and inhuman beating up of Cooperative Sugar Mill employees at Zira yesterday, who were peacefully protesting at the venue of Mr. Badal’s meeting. The other day the police rounded and roughed up women contractual multi purpose health workers at Jalandhar.

Mr. Badal has turned his election slogan of ‘Raj Nahin Sewa’ the other way around by doing sewa with his police ‘Danda’ on peaceful agitators including women. While in opposition Mr. Badal has often been heard of championing the cause of human rights and the right to to freedom of expression but once in the saddle of power the true face of a draconian leader has been unmasked with repeated attacks on peaceful protesters. Mr. Badal is on record in Vidhan Sabha to ensure safety and respect of women by the SAD-BJP Govt. only to disrespect and hurt the sentiments of women as in the case the other day at Jalandhar.

Congress feels anarchy is ruling the roost in Punjab with employees and general public across the state up in across against the anti people policies of the Badal Govt. There is not a day when Anganwari workers, ETT teachers, and other organizations who feel frustrated climb atop water tanks and take to various forms of protest. 17 Kisan organizations have also been in the forefront in leading protests across the state for the failure of Badal govt. on all fronts.

Congress describes the situation as one of civil war in the state with complete breakdown of constitutional machinery. The police force has been virtually turned into the private army of the Badal family. Rampant corruption rules the roost with the senior and junior Badal in deep slumber. It is a fit case of ‘Nero sleeping while Rome was burning’.

XAT announced, Aryans become 1st private B school of Punjab to be associate of XAT

Mohali (02/09/10) - Xavier Labor Relations Institute (XLRI) has announced admission for the following Programmes through XAT (Xavier Admission Test) 2011. There are more than 70 plus Management Institutes who are selecting students from XAT.Aryans Business School has become the only B-School in Punjab region to admit students using XAT score. Aryans has got nod to use XAT 2011 score for admitting students in MBA programme. After Common Admission Test (CAT) XAT is considered as one of the prestigious management entrance test.

Over 2.25 lakh students had appeared in the online CAT 2009 exams though the number of students appeared for XAT 2009 were approximately one lakh. It is expected to have large number of students to appear for XAT this time because of the continuation of paper pencil format in XAT test.

Registration for XAT 2011 starts on 01 Sep 2010 and ends on 30 Nov 2010. XAT 2011 will be conducted on 2nd January 2011 in the 33 cities of the country & Test Timings would be 10.00 am to 12.30 pm. Results will be available on the website by 31st January 2011. Last date for receiving XAT PP Form/XLRI PA Form is 5th December 2010.

All the candidates who can get their final year degree by June 10, 2011 are eligible to participate in XAT 2011. Other XAT Members Institutes may have a different date regarding the completion of the final examinations.

CM INAUGURATES CULTURAL NITE OF HAMIR UTSAV

SHIMLA, 2nd September, 2010(Bharatsndesh news) Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, Chief Minister inaugurated the Cultural Nite by lighting the ceremonial lamp at School Ground last evening, after he had also inaugurated the exhibition stalls put up by different departments, PSUs, NGO, Boards, BSNL, AIDS Control Society and Self Help Groups from different parts of the State and Kabaddi match to give start to sports events during the three day long State-level Hamir Utsav.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Chief Minister congratulat the people of the District for having completed 38 years of the formation of the district. He said that the District had also made progress in literacy, road density, health smart card and many other sectors which had been possible with the pro-active role of the people. He said that Hamirpur was coming up as a hub of vocational education in the State where National level vocational institutions had started functioning and providing students skill up-gradation in vocational training facilities nearer to their homes. He said that the 1st Technical University of the State was also likely to start its activities very soon since all the modalities required to start the University had been completed.

Prof. Dhumal said that Rs. 46 crore ultra modern Bus Stand construction work would be started very soon and Rs. 17 crore to be spent on it in the first phase. He said that State Government had returned the honour of the people of the district by bringing back the Jangal Beri IRB to its original location where infrastructural construction activities were in progress. He said that efforts had been made to give momentums to the pace of development by opening offices of Chief Engineer PWD, IPH, Conservator of Forests, Regional office of HIMUDA etc. at Hamirpur. He also complimented people on Janmastmi Mahaparb and wished all a joyous celebration. He also released the souvenir brought out to mark the celebration. He also enjoyed cultural programme.
